Mount Isa & Regional Business Awards
The Mount Isa & Regional Business Awards will be held on Saturday the 20th October 2007. This year will mark the inaugural inclusion of businesses from across the region as well as Mount Isa. Eligible organisations for the Awards must be located in North West Queensland and include: Mount Isa, Bedourie, Birdsville, Boulia, Burketown, Cloncurry, Camooweal, Dajarra, Doomadgee, Duchess, Gregory, Gunpowder, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Kajabbi, Karumba, Mornington Island, the Monument, Normanton, Richmond and Urandangi.
The awards will be hosted at the new venue of Buchanan Park in the Xstrata Entertainment Pavilion and will feature entertainment by Melbourne comedian Wayne Deakin who will also MC the night. Additional live entertainment will be provided by Mount Isa entertainers "DVanti".

Nominations for the awards will open on Monday, 13th August and close at 5.00pm Friday 25th August 2007, and will be published in the North West Star from Mid August or available from Council offices where the North West Star is not available.
The Department of State Development will host free information sessions leading up to the event to assist business owners with advice on completing their submissions for the awards. The sessions will be free of charge and run for approximately 30minutes. Further details regarding the information nights will be included in the submission packs posted to all organisations nominated for the awards.
Tickets for the night will go on sale as of Monday, 3rd September and will cost $80.00 each. Tickets may be purchased from the Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce, 76-78 Camooweal Street, Mount Isa. For further information please contact 07 4743 9881.
