Dear Members,
Commerce Queensland is currently presenting a wide range of information sessions, workshops, materials and consultations across Queensland to explain the workplace relations legislation through the Australian Government's Employer Advisor Programme.

They will be offering free in-house tuition and seminars to all members of the Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce.

Overview of Services

The following is an overview of the range of services Commerce Queensland will be providing across Queensland beginning in August:

General Briefings - "The Essential Workplace Relations System"
This seminar will give participants a general overview of the workplace relations system and will cover such important topics like the Australian fair pay and conditions standard and workplace agreements among others. The 35 seminars will be presented across Queensland in 30 different locations.

Agreement Making Educational Seminars

In this seminar participants will gain insight into the options available for your company in implementing agreements and the relevant topics that relate to this including application of the fairness test and lodging agreements. There will be 140 of these seminars running State wide in various locations.

Flexible Employment Workshops

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the flexible employment options under the Australian Government's workplace relations system, and how they can be applied particularly to groups such as women and mature age workers. Commerce Queensland will be running 25 of these workshops across Queensland.

One on One Consultations

These consultations provide businesses an opportunity to meet with a workplace relations expert to discuss matters specific to their company needs. We are offering 700 consultations to business across Queensland.

Indigenous Programmes

These seminars will provide participants with a general understanding of the workplace relations system and have been developed with input from the Indigenous community. This new seminar will be run in venues in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton.

School Leaver Briefings and Teacher Resource Kits

This tender will also see Commerce Queensland provide school leaver briefings and resource kits for teachers, providing students and teachers with information on entering the workforce and an overview of the workplace relations system.

Employee Briefings

Employee briefings, which will provide businesses with a speaker to address their staff on the workplace relations system, are also offered to businesses who seek provision of accurate, factual information to employees.
