Good afternoon,

The 2009 Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo is just 13 days away! Included in this update, please find the information regarding freight and storage, forklifts, meet the buyer sessions, food and our events for this year.

FREIGHT AND STORAGE

There are temporary storage facilities available at Buchanan Park as of 18 March 2009. Items that are sent by freight must be clearly marked with your organisation name and contact details and number of packages arriving (e.g. 1 of 3). This temporary storage facility is for items such as promotional and display equipment only.

All items will be signed in by Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce staff and will need to be signed out to each exhibitor on registration day by a representative of the organisation.

LARGE SCALE SITE STORAGE AND SETUP

Storage and set up times for larger display items such as machinery and heavy equipment must be organised by contacting the Chamber office at 07 4743 9881 to schedule delivery times and set up times according to site.

FORKLIFTS

There will be two forklift operators available onsite on Monday 23 March 2009 for exhibitor bump-in. Cut off date Friday March 13 2009 at 5pm.

MEET THE BUYER SESSIONS

Please be aware the Meet the Buyer Sessions will be open for registration on Monday, March 16th at 9:00 AM. All exhibitors will have ONE 20 minute time slot until all expressions of interest have been allotted a time by Friday March 20th at 9:00 AM. A schedule of times will be released on Friday March 13th for all exhibitors. Please note that we have approximately 20+ purchasing officers available during the Expo from different mine sites around the Carpentaria region.

BIG BREAKFAST MORNINGS

Each morning the Laura Johnson Home will be conducting a Charity Big Breakfast. Breakfast baguettes, fruit salads and other yummy items will be available from 7:30am – 9:30am on Tuesday and Thursday. Grab a feed and support the community by raising money for the local retirement home.

LUNCHES

The Cribb Room Café will be on site from 10am every day to purchase food and other assorted items.
Lunch order forms will be located in your Exhibitor Pack. Lunch orders can be delivered to your booth on nomination.

REGISTRATION

Exhibitors will be required to register before setting up booth. Exhibitors must sign in at the Registration Office (as designated in the floor plan) and Exhibitor Packs will be allocated at this point. Exhibitor packs will contain name badges, maps, all Opening Function tickets, Emergency Evacuation Plans and other event correspondence. Please note, only the Opening Function event will have tickets, all other events will have registration sheets on entry and require name badges to enter.
