April & May 2008 Service Excellence Award
The Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce rewarded the April and May recipients of the Service Excellence Award at the bi-monthly Chamber networking function at Outback @ Isa last week.
Michelle Gane from Capricorn Hairdressing Salon and Denise Reibelt from Flamenco's Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop received their awards after being nominated by anonymous customers who were extremely impressed with the level and quality of the service they received when attending both businesses.
With customer service being a topical issue within the City in recent times, Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce President Brett Peterson said it was pleasing to see outstanding examples from business representatives in Mount Isa.
"With customer expectations continually rising, the wider business community is becoming aware of the value and role that customer service plays in achieving business success.
"The Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce therefore re-launched the Service Excellence Awards to distinguish outstanding examples of customer service within the community. The objective of the Awards is to promote customer service as a profession and to improve the level of it in the community through encouragement and recognition," Mr Peterson said.
All monthly winners are automatically nominated for a Customer Service Award at the annual Mount Isa and Regional Business Awards which will be held in October this year.
In addition to the award, recipients also receive a gift voucher at a local business, which for the months of May and April was donated by Mount Isa Water and MAS Mechanical.
