IMPORTANT EXPO INFORMATION

The Expo is in just 19 days and a breakdown of the important points for exhibitors to note have been included in this update. These points are as follows:

STORAGE

For companies that are freighting equipment to Mount Isa prior to arrival, there are temporary storage facilities available on Buchanan Park. Items must be addressed to:

Xstrata Entertainment Centre

Cnr of George and Sutton Street
Mount Isa Q 4825

The courier must be instructed to register the items with the Buchanan Park administration and they will direct them to the storage facilities onsite.

This storage facility is available for items such promotional gear, electronic gear, banner and display equipment etc. For larger items or machinery please contact the Chamber office to organise alternative arrangements.

Equipment can be retrieved from 8am Monday 14 April on registration.

EVENT ATTENDANCE LISTING

The event attendance listing sheet that outlines all the events you are attending during the Expo needs to be forwarded back to the Chamber office by today Friday 28 March 2008. It is vital that this sheet is returned so we can reserve your place at these events.

BOOTH PAYMENT

All organisations have been invoiced at this present time for their booth and payment is required as soon as possible. If you have not paid for your booth by bump-in on Monday 14 April 2008, you will be required to present a cheque on registering.

FORKLIFT

There is a 2 1/2 tonne forklift on-site to assist with the larger outdoor displays. An operator is available, however you must inform the Chamber office if you require this service and we will organise times of transport for your equipment.

OPENING FUNCTION

The Opening Function is a black tie event. A general suit and tie will be adequate for this function.

MOUNT ISA WATER CLOSING FUNCTION

The Closing Function remains a mystery this year again and we assure you that you will literally be 'blown' away by this event. In addition to the surprise we will also guarantee a night full of live music, food, drinks and 'royale' treatment to say the least. Trust us, you don't want to 'gamble' on not coming to this event.

BUMP IN

On bump in you will receive a Welcome to Mount Isa Pack proudly donated by the Mount Isa Volunteers Association and a Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce pack. In the Chamber pack you will have your 2008 Xstrata MI EXPO Exhibitor Directory and addendum, tickets to the opening function and other informative items. Tickets to the Opening Function will be included in this pack as all other events will have a registration sheet at the event venue with your reservation.

OUTDOOR SITES

A run sheet is currently being developed for the outdoor sites regarding the heavy machinery and equipment that needs to be set up on bump in on Monday 14 April 2008. We will be contacting all outdoor sites within the next day to verify the heavy equipment that will need to be displayed, any special requirements and to schedule a time for set up.

MOUNT ISA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & BUCHANAN PARK

The ladies that will be able to assist you throughout the event are pictured below and will be buzzing around all week. We will be wearing either Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce shirts or Buchanan Park shirts and feel free to stop us to answer any enquiries or to simply have a chat.

Unfortunately however due to prior commitments, Kerry Cordle will be unavailable as of next week and we look forward to her return in May.

MOUNT ISA VOLUNTEERS ASSOCIATION

The Mount Isa Volunteers Association will also be assisting over the four days of Expo and will be wearing very bright cherry red shirts.
